【Event Introduction】
From Wednesday, August 20 to Tuesday, August 26, 2025, a pop-up event titled “Salt and Rice: Shiojiro” will be held at the Eat-In Booth of the Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi Main Store Food Collection. This event features the completely sun-dried salt crafted by master salt artisan Shiojiro Tanoya as its star attraction. “Shirojirō’s Salt,” crafted using a unique method relying solely on the sun and sea breeze without fire, captivates top chefs worldwide. Its rarity is exceptionally high, earning it the reputation as a “legendary salt” difficult to obtain even within Japan.
This event offers a set meal centered around “salt rice balls” generously made with the sun-dried salt of master artisan Shiojiro Tanoya. Furthermore, under the supervision of Ryosuke Seito, a rising star food producer known for his work with renowned Japanese confectionery “Kashi Kurogi,” a one-of-a-kind special shaved ice featuring salt as an accent will also be introduced.
